About

About this blog...

This blog in essence is about sharing ideas of how to use creativity and the outdoors to promote positive mental wellbeing.

In late 2018 I began therapy for anxiety and realised the important role that nature and art have played in my own mental health journey. As a mother of two young children, I also wanted to find fun mood-boosting and mindful ways of promoting positive mental health in my little ones.

This blog includes fun how tos, printables and tasks around the subjects of

Relaxation, calm and meditation.
Positivity, gratitude and kindness.
Seeking joy in the ordinary.
Outdoors and adventure.
Bravery and resilience.
Art and creativity.
Finding balance and what is important to you.

So I think what I am trying to say is we are all going to have some fun and get to feel really smug and zen about it in the process

About me...

I am a designer, maker and freelance illustrator who lives and works in Yorkshire.

I studied English and Archaeology at The University of Liverpool. I have always loved being creative, but decided to take the plunge and make this my full time job in 2019.

Disclaimer:

I am not a mental health professional and any suggestions made in this are purely changes I have made that I found helpful. I found the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy that I received to be massively beneficial. If you are having problems I recommend you speaking to a health care professional. I will discuss aspects of the therapy I received in this blog, and would like to encourage anyone who is nervous about asking for help to do so.
